Jessica Peterson Tierney
Jessica Tierney is the 2023 - 2025 President for the LWVNI. She owns commercial and residential real estate in North Iowa, and also owns and operates a machine shop.
Her degree is in psychology. She spent about 25 years in the violence against women field, both providing counseling and advocacy services and teaching self-defense classes.
She has been married for almost 30 years and has 23-year-old twin boys. In her free time she enjoys reading, cross-stitching, building dollhouses, writing, doing puzzles, and working out.

Abby Donald
Abby Donald is a Board Member for the LWVNI. She is a high school Social Studies teacher at Mason City High School. She became involved in the League because she believes in the core mission, understands the value an educated citizenry, and was interested in connecting with like-minded people in the community. Abby grew up in Mabel, Minnesota. She received her Master's Degree in education at Morningside College and her Bachelor's Degree in history from the University of Minnesota. Abby lives with her husband and three children in Mason City.

Amanda Ragan
Amanda Ragan is a life-long resident of North Iowa. She was the director of the Community Kitchen and Meals on Wheels program for 25 years, where she worked to feed hungry people in our area. During that time, Amanda supported many agencies with the goal of solving community problems and making lives better for others.
Amanda also served for 20 years as a State Senator in the Iowa Legislature, where she worked to craft laws and policies. She served on several committees dealing with Appropriations, Veteran Affairs, and Health and Human Services. One of her most notable successes was legislation which expanded Medicaid healthcare programs to more than 150,000 Iowans.
Amanda Ragan has always believed in public service at all levels which promotes what is best for the common good and provides reasonable, common sense solutions to problems we face now and in the future.
She lives in Mason City and is married to Jim Ragan. She has two children and four grandchildren.

Jennifer Ramaeker
Jennifer is a lifelong resident of North Iowa and is Vice-President of LWVNI. The regional chapter is newly formed and represents an 8-county area of North Iowa.
Jennifer currently serves on the Mason City Housing Authority Board of Directors and the Greater MC Board of Realtors as Vice President. She has served on many different boards and commissions over the years with the goal of community building and civic responsibility. Jennifer currently works as an Associate Broker with RealtyONEGroup in Mason City and Clear Lake.
Jennifer is honored to serve in her role with the LWVNI and believes it is now more important than ever to continue on with the legacy, tradition, strength, and power of the League. Voter education and defending our hard-won democracy are paramount. She is proud to stand with the League of Women Voters.

Emily Bruns
Emily Bruns is on the Board of Directors for the LWVNI. When not serving the League, Emily is a Social Studies teacher at Mason City High School. Her career as a Social Studies teacher led her to be passionate advocate for promoting democracy, citizenship, and gender equality.
Emily is originally from Waverly but has lived in Mason City for the past seven years. She holds a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Social Science Education from the University of North Iowa. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and go hiking with her dog, Hudson.
